Are there any "measureable" differences that you can attribute to the new firmware ?
Have any known buggy behavior issues been addressed/fixed ?

It is unfortunate that DLink did not post what changes were made in the new f/w version - at least then we'd know what improvements one can be thankful for.

Gotta love it.

I was going to dlink.CA to look for the f/w update and there was no info there - hence my post.
I just went to dlink.COM and voila - there is the info.  I don't know why the .ca version of their site had no info.

I upgraded over the weekend.  I'm very glad that I read this forum--it's not an upgrade for the faint of heart.  even with I.E.,  I too had the interim orange logo screen that appeared to be in some sort of zombie state after the upgrade timer expired.  I waited several minutes and finally saw the success screen, but I couldn't click on the tab to upload my config.  It appeared to be crashed.  I power-cycled it, then let things settle for a few minutes.  Then I logged in and I uploaded my config.bin settings file (I had reset to defaults just prior to upgrading).  Non-responsive, it looked like it was crashed, but recovered again a while later. I power-cycled again out of paranoia, then everything was dandy and has been for the past 72 hours.  Haven't looked in the logs yet for the "[truncated] m" message.

So you got a yellow light after the 4 minutes was up? I didn't see this as per my post#29.
You have any security software running while you updated? Mine was disabled.

Yeah, yellow light. I was horrified, but figured I'd wait...and it payed off.  No security software.  I do think, however, that IE9 is doing something funky with caching pages (I did have to close my browser, and no, the gateway IP didn't change).  Perhaps Firefox or Safari is a better bet.

Stable as ever now, though (heavy use, 2 Xboxes + PC gaming simultaneously over the very hot weekend).

Anything is possible now days between OS, Browsers and FW updates. Glad it's working well for you. Enjoy.

Those of you who had weird issues with the firmware update.  Just out of curiosity, were you using a CAT5(e) or CAT6 cable?

I used a CAT5e.

that would not make a difference (I have cat6), know one knew that it would take 300 secs to overwrite the firmware so once you press ok, ok, after upload you cannot do anything within that time, I assume if g chrome page blanked out after that, an individual would get itchy and try to solve it not knowing you are about to brick your router since you mess with it before that time.

it shouldn't make a difference however the quality of the cables in use can make a difference. Having new cables from places like Deepsurplus or Monoprice can ensure your getting good quality cables and getting good connections. I wouldn't leave anything to chance when using in box cables. Cat5e is good, nothing wrong in using CAT6 which is better. As stated in my post #29, all was good during the FW update. IT TAKES 4 MINUTES  to complete the update. SO BE PATIENT!!!

you mean 5 minutes, 300 secs is 5 minutes, unless it's different time for everyone, but I saw the countdown start from 300 seconds on mine. I know there was a post in the beginning a poster put 300 minutes but I figured that was in error.

Saved my old config, reset to factory settings, reloaded old settings, no probs whatsoever!
Even used Chrome; alls well here, LAN & WAN both zooming along, very happy!

Hi, I tried to upgrade to version 1.01 and everything worked fine, except for my 6in4 IPv6 connection. The LAN didn't get IPv6 address and no RA were sent to the clients. I downgraded to the posted version 1.00, but found out it is actually version 1.00b9 from December 2011 and not the version 1.00shipped with my router. This older version has WPS PIN method enabled and some other issues compared to the version shipped with my router, so now I'm stuck with it.

Can you please:

1. Post the final v1.00 at ftp.dlink.com instead of 1.00b9, so I can revert to the version shipped with my router.

2. Investigate and fix the problem regarding 6in4 with version 1.01. Native IPv6 is nice, but Comcast still hasn't turned it on where I live so I have to use  a tunnel to get IPv6 connectivity.
