the cable modem is having problems staying in sync?

Something like that, He said "I don't mind at all. Your upstream and downstream signal to noise ratio drops to low at times. This normally causes packet loss. The downstream correctable code error rate is to high, which will cause lag. Also there is a high number of cyclic redundancy checks recorded on your modem which means that your modem and the CMTS have been having problems staying in communication with each other."

"Absolutely. We can get the SNR stabilized and in doing so, will be able to find the cause of the error rates on the modem. "

Ive been through 3 techs already trying to get it fixed.

Also how do I go about doing a full reset on the router ?

ok so this is a ISP issue then.
You can do a full factory reset in tools and system.

Not sure if updating your FW will help any and the ISP seems to know that your having issue on the line. You could update the fw if you wanted to..just don't think it might help if any until they get you a clear and more stable signal on the line.

Also, I looked in the logs part of the router

yes if those IP addresses aren't your ISPs addresses. This is normal, thats the router and firewall doing it's job and the logs are reporting it as such.

Ya, I would hold off until your ISP gets there stuff together and you get a stable signal on the line. Your probably good to go on the router and the router is only doing it's job and if it can get enough signal from the modem because of noise and such on the line then your only going to see what it can get you. You could probably do the reset and see if you see any change..I doubt it though. I would set up the 4500 as you need it, get everything on static IPs, go head and get the game fuel rules filled in for the PS console and get it set up like you want it. Might leave off the game fuel for now until they get the signal better. Save off your config file. Run it as is or factory. Once they get the signal to where it should be, upload the config file and reboot, you should be good to go after that.

game fuel rules, sorry, use the game fuel rules, theirs no need for the gaming rules for the console. Those are mostly used for PC applications or PC games that you play that might need ports forwarded. Lets stick with game fuel and the PS for now.

Ok, it looks good until and protocol ports. Are there specific port numbers that PS has that you can put there? XBL is 3074. I presume PS has some as well that you need to put in there. ANY probably isn't going to work. It's better to have specific numbers here.

ok then you should be good to go. The console should be the only one there. If you get another just add it to the list.
