Cannot Detect wireless
« on: September 15, 2009, 05:09:32 PM »

I just bought this adapter today, and unfortunately it's not working properly.
It can detect my wireless after I reboot my computer and connect to it, but after a few minutes it drops the connection and cannot detect my wireless at all.

I'm running Vista, can anybody please help me? Thanks!

Hi kwang411,

Have you downloaded the latest drivers for Vista? Vista 32-bit or Vista 64-bit version?

I'm running windows 7, I have a icore 7 2.8 (newer version), on a p7p55d mobo with 8gb of ddr 3 ram. ATI 5800 series vid card, 750watt power supply.

Same issue, I'm going to have to return the card if it keeps this up.

I just tried again with the new supposedly windows 7 drivers.  At least for these wireless connection manager sees that I have the hardware, but still, after a short period of time it looses all networks and does not get them back.

Guys, having the same problem. Except that the card doesn't detect any networks period. Never has. Even bought the damn thing twice from two different retailers.
Downloaded the latest drivers (1.60), and nothing. did everything under the sun including switch PCI slots and flash my bios on the motherboard. Zilch.
Motherboard is EVGA 780i Sli
CPU - E8400
Ram - 4gigs
Video card - EVGA 9800 GTX

Anybody find a solution?

P.S. the restarting of WLAN AUTOCONFIG service did nothing for me.
Thanks.

Hi All,

I only have the Drivers of the DWA-552 Card installed, without the D-Link Wireless Network Manager Utility, since the D-Link Wireless Network Manager Utility was causing a Blue Screen of death for my previous DWL-G520 Adapter running in Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2.

Now currently have the DWA-552 Card installed in the computer, without the D-Link Wireless Network Manager, in Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 and Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit Release Candidate Version, in a Dual-boot configuration.

In XP, I am using the D-Link Drivers Version 1.50 and in Windows 7, the Vista Drivers Version 1.50 for Windows 7.

Note: D-Link has released 1.60 Drivers for the DWA-552 on November 5, 2009.

I called the support center with the same issue they suggested I return the card and buy something that is supported by windows 7, they don't know if its the card or the driver..

So that is what I will do.. go with another card...

I'm getting the same issue with Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.

The first tech person I spoke to at D-LINK didn't even know about 1.60 version of the drivers.  I have it connecting every 45 sec or so, then loses connection for about 30 sec, then it reconnects.  That's because I have the D-LINK software running in Vista Compatibility.  Really getting annoying.

Haha, I have the same problem using Win 7 Home Premium and P7P55D mobo.  I lose the connection a couple minutes after booting into windows and then all the other available networks dissappear...  Tried various ways of installing the drivers (v.1.60), the DLINK utility and different PCI slot with no luck...the green light on the card keeps blinking about once a second...frustrating :-\  I'm about to jettison this card so please help!
