XBOX 360 won't play some AVIs off DNS-323
« on: July 20, 2009, 12:31:31 PM »

So I picked up a DNS-323 and I'm happy with it overall...

The only issue I've come accross is that some AVIs won't play over the network on my xbox 360... I get "Unplayable Media" and error code 69-C00D36BE.

If I copy these to a USB stick, they'll play in the 360.  Also, if I rename them to something short and sweet, they'll play over the network.  I'd rather not have to rename everything though.

Anyone else seen this?  XBOX problem or DNS-323 problem?

Thanks for any help

man dlink effed up my media server with this new firmware release.  i was able to stream videos, music, and pictures to my xbox 360.  it would play all my avi, xvid, wmv files and now it doesn't.  every video i try to stream gives me a media not supported message what gives, what changes were done during this new release to mess up more than fix something.  am i forced to use itunes server to stream my music now(which i do not want to do).  ahhh i feel better after releasing some stress.  is there anyone who is successfully streaming video, music, pictures to an xbox 360?

If the current release is the problem roll back to the previous firmware that did work.  ;D
