DSL -6850U limit wireless speed
« on: February 14, 2016, 08:20:25 AM »

How can i limit the wireless bandwidth?
The problem is that the computers around the house that are using the wifi will take all the speed from the main computer. I want to limit it.
How can i do it?
I know i can do something in the QoS, but i have no idea how to do it.
I have this :

and this :

What do I do there?
And if there is an easier way besides QoS please tell me, because I really don't understand anything there.
Please, I tried several support forums, they all told me :"Yea, just go to QoS and limit", and no one told me how to actually do it.
Thanks.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your modem? Look at the sticker under modem.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the modems web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

You can review this and see if this gives you any help. It's not the exactly the same however may help:
Gaming and QoS for XBL
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

If you can't get the DSL modem configured, you might want to get a DIR series router with the QoS seen in the link, then bridge the DSL modem and connect up the DIR series router and configure it.
