Installing new apps
« on: November 23, 2015, 10:57:03 AM »

I have downloaded multiple apps for my DNS-320, but how do I install them? I have searched through the faqs but I cannot find how to do that.

Open webpage
Login by typing the IP address of 320L to access web gui
Enter password (if required)
Click Applications
Look right (left of Storage Status) for Add-On Management and click
Look left Add Ons and click
Chose File - browse to downloaded addon and select and click install - accept addon notification

Some addons may require reboot or other addons or to be set to Start/Run (Red means it's running / Green means it's stopped)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ND6GthnUdts  watch from 7mins 41secs in
You will see the web gui accessed by typing the IP address of the NAS into web browser address bar - then entering password
Once you've accessed the web gui my previous instructions should be easy

Can you confirm OS on PC, browser, your location (country)?

Firmware version 2?  according to https://us.mydlink.com/download# - select Storage - scroll to 320L

Quote
Firmware v1.05

With the above in mind - what is the IP address of your 320L - open Chrome browser - in address bar just type that IP (eg  192.168.?.???) then hit Return/Enter

Chrome might deny permission and if it does read that message and follow the instructions to advanced settings (I think) and give Chrome permission

You may the be asked for password...... then follow my original instructions

I have the version 320 not the version 320L, have granted the bios to version 2.05 from the website. I've tried it with several different browsers and I still cannot get it To display the add link. Can I dropped them straight into the folder to be added automatically?

You can not install DNS-320L on a DNS-320.  ::)

Philip, please be careful.  The 320 and 320L are not compatible and someone might take what you say at face value and brick their unit - not a good outcome.

Philip, please be careful.  The 320 and 320L are not compatible and someone might take what you say at face value and brick their unit - not a good outcome.

Point 1 - I included the word 320L in my first reply
Point 2 - I already apologized
Point 3 - If DLink would offer updates for some older devices rather than making them EOL / obsolete just because of new models (some of their customers expect devices to last more than a few years)
Point 4 - It took somebody else 4 days to consider giving advice after I had already made an apology .

Suggestion give it a rest or jump in before others who are trying to help don't make silly but understandable mistakes

I totally understand there's a difference between the two bios versions for different units and know one is not compatible with the other. I think I'll open up the ticket with D-Link and asks them about it

TS, forget about it, I venture into this sometime back and D-Link provided addon simply doesn't work for this model, ie. DNS-320.
