Good Thursday morning. I currently use a DCS-933L webcam to FTP images to my weather station and Weather Underground. I recently purchased a DCS-2332L for mounting outside on the weather station itself, and began configuring it for use. While the interfaces for the cameras are somewhat different, the settings are mostly the same, EXCEPT for the 2332L "server / event / media" section. I have entered what I believe are the correct settings in those areas, but cannot get the camera to do an FTP upload.

The firmware on the camera is current: v1.05.02. The camera functions...interface, network connectivity (CAT5 and wireless), and live image. When I test the FTP connection, I get a "test error"; however, when I look at the syslog, it says that the FTP login was successful....just no image upload. Weather Underground has two camera accounts for my station, one for the 933L and one for the 2332L; I have tried both. The login onformation is the same for both accounts, and I have even disabled the FTP on the 933L and tried the 2332L...still nothing.

It is certainly possible that the camera is a lemon and bad out of the box, but I would appreciate the Forum's opinion and guidance in the matter.

I really do not know anything about the FTP settings. But as far as the camera being a lemon, have you tried setting it to email images? Just to see if the sending images function works?

This type of pay sounds familiar. Search the forum. Someone else also had troubles with these weather places.

(It could be something like a special character in the password that's a problem. Try a simple character only password)

Sorry for the late reply. I tried the email test, that didn't work either. I captured screen shots of my settings, but cannot determine how to attach them to this thread.

Why don't you just type out here what you entered in settings and we can help you troubleshoot.

The event will show as "not enabled" in the screenshot. If enabled, it would conflict with my working camera. I have only enabled it during my testing.

Since you said the email doesn't work either could you please configure (and try) the email settings and post screen captures of that. I have my email settings working well and I should be able to help with that quicker than FTP. At some point I can try an FTP to my NAS but I just bought a new one and I'm still configuring it.

Hi I have the same issue with this type of cam. I do exactly the config as I do it in different other devices which all work fine. Tried passiv and no passiv and lots of variants.
Has nobody any hint s for the ftp config?

finally I've both (2332L and 2210 running with the ftp upload.
I had to, upgrade to the latest firmware and do a factory reset! Then configured from scratch.
I don't know why but I had to put the IP oft the ftp Server, the name (ftp.server.com) didn't worked.

Overall I find the UI quite shaky, often you have to give the input twice and save. You have to reboot to and do some changes again until it works. Wasted me a lot of time.
Support was helpful but the input factory reset was not given so I played quite some time...

That's the information that let me solve the problem. Because I was running D-Link DCS-932L and had been successful with FTPs to WU, I assumed the settings would be the same in the 2332L. Apparently not. The root of the problem was the WU FTP upload folder configuration. In the settings for the 932L, WU wants a " / " character as the FTP root folder. Not so much in the 2332L. Thanks to the information from the "fousa link", I changed the " / " to a folder name of my choice, in this case calling it "weather", verified the other settings, tested the configuration on the 2332L and was successful (Test OK!), disabled the FTP on the 932L, enabled the FTP on the 2332L, and started getting FTP uploads to WU on the established one minute schedule.

In the end, it was a huge pain in the a**...laborious, aggravating, and time-consuming. During the process, I sent two emails to the D-Link support site, asking for guidance, and received no reply to either inquiry. I am extremely disappointed, and D-Link should be ashamed of their firmware version and their gross lack of customer service.

I am an IT project manager and systems administrator and consider myself fairly knowledgeable about hardware and software configurations, and this one had me stumped. All of my step-by-step mods to the settings proved fruitless. Again, thankfully, all of you came through with ideas and suggestions, leading to the one that finally proved successful.

A hat tip to all the smart folks here on the Forum!
