Black outs on 50% of event images
« on: January 14, 2015, 12:35:39 AM »

Hello Forum users.
I have recently got my DCS-5222LB1. I set up images sent on motion detection during the night, checking what going on in my garden. Mostly cats though. But I note that about 50% of the images are just black/videonoise. Some email notifications come with all images good: 1 pre event image, 5 after event triggered. The other emails contain 1 pre event image thats okay and 5 after event which are black/videonoise.

Does not seem to me like a WLan connection timeout but a problem within the camera. Anyone with the same experience?

No, haven't tried this.
Are the timestamps related to the set?

What do you mean by "time stamps related to the set?"

22:52:43 is the timestamp on the image.

It's it related to the other 6 images?  Or is it off?

Well, usually there is one pre-event image that is fine, then follow 5 past event (motion detection) images which are all correct timing looking at the time stamp, but they are all noise/empty like the example posted before. So, yes its a complete set. This happens about 30% to 50% of the time.

Have you tried reducing the number of images or removing the pre-image?

no, but I am no using video clips instead of images, and the same happens. First 1 second good video, then I hear a click and about 5 seconds blackout, then the image comes back for 2 seconds, all in the same clip. Looks like the LEDs shut down.
