FTP debug log? Any way to get this

Cannot get FTP to work.  FTP from PC works - no problem.

Any way to get some type of debug log or session log for the FTP activity??

The FTP test status is stuck at:  "Testing ..." no change no matter what I do.

I would like to see some type of error message, activity log - etc but there is nothing.
ie: Logging in ....   Sending Username ... Sending Password ....  etc
There is nothing! Period. Nothing.

Before you answer please see my firmware wish list item. you'll understand more that I know the ftp server is working, I am on the same network, same netmask, same ... and same ...  FTP server works from my PC

I have tried this wired, and wireless - same result.

Do I really have to go get WireShark and a HUB to sniff the activity on the wire? Please ... that is sort of stupid and extreme if that is what i have to resort to.
