Unable to see wireless network during initial installation
« on: December 08, 2013, 10:44:19 PM »

I have been going through the installation process, and in the "Choose a connection" dialog I select 'Available Wireless Network'.  It scans, but cannot see my wireless network, so I cannot go further in the installation.  I would appreciate any suggestions.

My info:
Hardware:  Fujitsu Lifebook T900, Win7x64, DLink DCS-932L, Apple Airport express base station.

Can you connect the DCS-932L to your network using WPS on your router to auto detect the DCS-932L, and then go through the configuration process with the Wizard?

Pressing and holding the WPS button on the rear of the DCS-932L for > 3 seconds will cause the blue WPS light to light up, giving your router 60 seconds to find the device.

If you use a wired connection, you can manually add your router wireless credentials to the DCS-932L.

Once you establish a wired connection, perform the following steps:

  • Enter the DCS-932L IP address into a browser from a PC on the same LAN
  • Log into the DCS-932L web UI.  If you haven't configured your DCS-932L, the default username/password combination is User: admin, Password: [blank]
  • Navigate to SETUP > Network Setup and save your wireless settings

I should add that you can fully configure your DCS-932L manually, but you'll still need to run the Setup Wizard to register the device with a mydlink account.

Curious.  When trying to configure my settings manually, it doesn't accept my IP address, and the DNS's are a bit different from what I'm used to.  I've included my network settings below, any insights would be greatly appreciated.  :(

Hi,
Apple Airport DOES support WPS.
You have to select in the menu "Add WPS Printer ..." then choose "first attempt" (approximative translation from my native language).
I attached 3 DCS-932L cams to my Time Capsule which is basically an Airport Extreme.

I also experienced an empty WIFI site survey from the Mac DCS configurator tool which led me to use WPS.
