3 days since I have updated to the latest firmware (1.11) and 3 days I have found my router locked up (needing to power off in order to get access). Has anyone experiences same and found a solution/cause?
I would STRONGLY suggest against updating firmware as the readme indicates there is no way back once you do; at least until this issue is identified and fixed.

Yes I am seeing the same problem as are others. You can read the freezing router thread in the 655 forum: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=5281.0Or here is anotehr thread over at dslreports: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r22332904-DIR-825-Firmware-v111b01-beta-ReleasedI also never had this problem until upgrading to 1.11 and now I can make it maybe 2 or 2.5 days before it hangs up and I have to cycle the power. I did however today turn off dns relay as mentioned in the first thread above. It's too early to tell if the helps the lock up issue, but the machines are much faster getting to pages on the internet thats for sure and even a page I serve on a local machine is loading much faster. I will hold my final judement for a few more days though to see if the speed stays and if it does not lock up. Jeff

When you upgraded to FW 1.11, did you reload a saved config or did you reload your settings manually?

I have tried both. I reset it and restored all the settings by entering them manually and I have also tried restoring them from a saved config file. Both times I have had it hang up and everytime for me at least it has been in less than 3 days.

If thats the case, contact technical support and request a replacement.

I experienced the same problem. After updating the firmware to 1.11 my new DIR-825 became unresponsive after 48 hours (could not log in). Powering off and on again fixed the problem. However it failed again, 48 hours later. So I returned it to the store.

No good, mine continues to die every day since the firmware upgrade. Trying to get tech support; hopefully they can solve it.
Note: After update I reset to factory and reloaded the saved configuration file. I've redone the procedure a few times and no go.

Reset back to factory and build configuration from scratch. If you have a lot of customer configurations write it down or do screen shots of each custom settings then enter in manually from a fresh reset to factory.

Well I am still running mine with DNS relay off and it was running great up until a power outage 2 nights ago which reset it. It is still working great and web lookups have never been faster as well as web browsing. I still need to give it another 24 hours or so to see if it can make it longer than all of the other tries with DNS relay on. I will report back either way in a day or two. Jeff

ok, so do we think it's related to loading an older config file after the flash?
Any word from DLink support yet?

I got an email asking me to downgrade but before I do that I am asking if they really mean it. I've had contacts with support where the person where not knowledgable and I wanted to be 100% sure I don't brick my router be trying something that I've been told by support not to try.

Update; the support person (via email) changed their mind when I asked 'are you sure?' (twice) and I suggested that if the router became unusable as a result of trying to downgrade that I would expect a replacement.
I was told by an L3 tech yesterday that this is a common issue and they had a meeting (scheduled shortly after my call) to discuss with mgmt what to do about this. I haven't heard back yet from L3 tech.

I'd presume that's because the firmware download page states that v1.11 (once installed) doesn't allow the firmware to be downgraded. http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DIR%2D825This small fact along with the problems other users are currently experiencing has prevented me from installing this firmware update.

I too upgraded to 1.11 last week and I am getting lockups every 24 hours. I have done a hard reset of the router and started from scratch twice... still doesn't fix the problem.
I am going to try the "turn off DNS Relay" as suggested by someone else on this forum and see if that fixes it.
Also, I know if says you can't downgrade the firmware... has anyone actually confirmed this?
If ANYONE has a solution, PLEASE HELP. I am about to say goodbye to D-Link as my home networking company of choice if I can't get quick resolution to this.
Ethan
