System logs / FTP logs
« on: May 17, 2009, 03:06:19 AM »

I think this functionality needs some improvements. Here are my suggestions:
  • DNS-323 should log IP addresses (for me logs are useless without this kind of information)
  • FTP only logs PUT and GET actions. I think other actions (DELETE, MKDIR, RMDIR, LS etc.) should be logged as well + every connection&disconnection to/from FTP server
  • option for sending logs to syslog server
  • some configuration options (what to monitor, view levels)
  • sorting logs (ascending/descending by date)
  • save current logs to text file option

Hi,
Def agree with the additional logging - I am having terrible trouble getting my FTP server accessible from outside my network - the ability to see any activity from the FTP logged would at least let me see if I am hitting the server and having trouble getting back out again.

it's the same for me. I was using the download from internal disk to the other (a way to backup my data every 2 days), some something goest wrong, and the download never succeed 100 % ... this LOG will help me found where it goes wrong (is it my file structure, accent use (é àè), some file "Hidden, System" ...
