Needs a performance boost. With fw 1.01 too transfer rate (r&w) seems terribly too slow in comparison with other brand solution...
Need a option for enabling Master Browser without the need to install fun_plug.
I was running v1.01 of the firmware and noticed that when you schedule the DNS-345 to turn itself on at 8am, it actually turns itself on at 8pm.I have just upgraded to v1.01b09 (provided by tech support Australia) and am yet to test if this issue still occurs... but it's not really that big a deal.
Yeah, that issue is still there with the new v1.01b09 firmware.
Well, for the first two or three days after upgrading to this v1.01b09 firmware, things were running at full speed and I was happy. Sadly, after that, it has gone back to being slow again. I am experiencing much slower speeds than Anvi, above. I'm talking KB/s. Not MB/s.
Transfer rates need to be fixed.. I'm getting 45MB/s peak transfer rate when moving files on local network to the DNS-345. 8GB file transfer:LAN1 35MB/s peak write LAN1+LAN2 45MB/s peak writeSadly average rates are a little bit lower.. HDDs can't be the bottleneck here as each of them are able to read/write 100-130MB/s.FW: 1.01
If a user uses the wrong version of firmware on their device the device should report some kind message that the firmware they are using is not for their device. I didn't realize until after trying the US firmware on my Canadian device and it did nothing, didn't update just had the spinning colorful wheel on the screen and the message to now power down or turn off my NAS. After 20 minutes of nothing and being able to logon to the NAS through another session I cancelled out. I noticed the Canadian site finally got updated and the firmware was posted there; there is a slight difference in the file size between the USA and Canadian firmwares even though they are same version. The Canadian version installed without any issues and fairly quickly too.
