« on: January 14, 2012, 05:09:35 AM »

HI!

Pls help me to use 685 in AP mode.

I have cisco e3000. it gets internet from cable and share via wi-fi.
I need in living room get inet connection for audio reciver and multimedia player (lan).
So... can 685 get inet from wifi and share it via lan ports?

In internet manual setup, i click on checkbox "enable AP mode"
What i must do next to setup 685 (work like AP client)

Thanks!

No...

In that topic router gets inet via Ethernet cable from the other router.

7. Connect an Ethernet cable in one of the LAN ports of the router and connect it to your other router. Do not plug anything into the Internet (WAN) port of the D-Link router.
8. You may now use the other 3 LAN ports to connect other Ethernet devices and computers. To configure your wireless network, open a web browser and enter the IP address you assigned to the router. Refer to the Configuration and Wireless Security sections for more information on setting up your wireless network.

But i need, that dir-658 gets network conection via wifi from another router (i have cisco e3000)
and share it via dir-685`s LAN ports

So i need that dir-685 to working in wifi client mode, is that possible ?
In 685 tech specs i see:
 Adapter (Wireless Client), Infrastructure, Repeater.

But i cant find where is in 685`s menu i can turn on client mode  ??? ??? ???

Here is diagram.... i need to use 685 like cisco bridge on the picture

No...this router is only capable of being a host router or being turned into an AP.
