Hello All,

I have D-Link; DIR-600 wireless 150 router. & I am looking for help to put some restrictions on internet usage on daily bases.

I am not a tech-savy but looking for help to set up some security to restrict internet usage as I live with my cousins and flatmates so want to restrict that those particular IP addresses should not access more than 500MB per day as I am the responsible one for paying internet bills and I am just over it keeping an eye on usage.

- Restrict Internet usage on every single laptop
or
- restrict downloading and uploading from those laptops

Any this kind of help which help me to stop worrying abt internet usage.

Please if some one can help me setting it out.

Thanks

These routers can limit the usage in a time schedule however they dont' support bandwidth limiting and download management. These are basic routers that are just mainly good for general Internet usage. Need more specific management would entail probably a different router or a business class router. Most Home user routers don't provide this kind of management.

Wonder what is this then?

This function can let user manage upload and download bandwith according to the application of each IP range, it is simple to complete the bandwith management by just selecting diffrent opperation mode, maximun upload or download, for each IP range.

And can someone tell me the difference between Rev B1 and C1? which one is better?

Probably can do this on the 600 router then. Not all routers have this. Good info. Thanks for bringing this to the forum. I learned something new.

I don't have any knowledge of the differences between these routers you mentioned. Only that there is probably minor HW differences and regional hw differences for each region of the world. The UI might be the same however I presume there are subtle differences.

What HW version is your router?

Is there any problems with your router?

Mainly the hardware component that is inside the router, and of course newer hardware version enjoys the benefit of getting newer firmware with more features.
