I would suggest restoring to factory defaults after upgrading to 1.06. Also by default UPNP AV and ITUNES are disabled on 1.06. Make sure they are turned on and that you have clicked the REFRESH button on the Web GUI.

its enabled. my ps3 sees the 323, my 360 does not (i assume it would show up in the 'video library' section.

the one thing that is different between the two systems, is that the ps3 is set up to wirelessly connect to the router that the 323 is hard wired to, while the 360 is on a wired connection to a router, that wirelessly bridges to the router that the 323 is on.

I was having issues and made sure all of my settings were correct (they were) and still could not connect. I took the Moderators advice and reset to default settings, enabled UPnP and changed nothing else and and on the first try in my XBOX 360 it showed up. My XBOX is hard wired as well through a Netgear Wireless G Router.

Thanks D-Link...

As above.  It was working quite happily with 1.6 Beta, but didn't work with the official release.  One restory to factory defaults later and everything is now fine.

restored to defaults, enabled, refreshed, and still nothing

where should the 323 appear in the 360 list?

If your running over 2 routers and a bridge, I would suspect that's your problem.  I'd eliminate the variables, and move your 360 to test it plugged directly into the same router as your NAS drive.

I'll bet that fixes it.

My xbox 360 can "see" the dns323 but not of my music or videos appear.  Any ideas?  I've selected the root directory option and have run the refresh several times.

The DNS-323 shows up on my Xbox360's Video, Music and Pictures sections of the dashboard, but when I select it, it says no videos/music/pictures were found or the device could not connect.

Funny thing is, it actually worked with the 1.05 firmware, albeit with some glitchiness if I drilled down through too many subfolders.  This firmware appears to have actually taken a step back in this regard.

Did you Refresh the UPnP feature on the DNS-323?

It's on the UPNP page.

Yes, I refreshed, but same thing.

So, I just changed it from sharing Root on the DNS-323 to sharing, specifically, just my Videos subfolder, and now it works.

So, is sharing the root, like, too many folders/subfolders for the UPNP server to search through or something?  I DNS-323 wish it had the option to specify sharing more than one folder.

Hi all,

Although I'm not a 'big' advocate of UPnP, I've gone ahead an enabled UPnP on one of my DNS-323's so as to test XBOX360 connectivity.

Also note that I am using an Active Directory domain with *all* devices on the network are configured with the same WORKGROUP name and *all* devices are supported by Windows DHCP, DDNS, and WINS services.

Here are the steps I performed:

500GB - Seagate - RAID1 - f/w 1.06
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) Log into DNS-323 and configured UPnP AV SERVER with the following folder:
    <dns323>\Volume_1\Audio\Music
2) Clicked 'Refresh'
    - Until I clicked 'Refresh', XBOX360 would indicate that it lost connection to computer
    - Took a *really* long time (270GB+ of MP3 LAME 3.96)
3) Navigate XBOX360 Music Library content
Few observations:
1) Seems like basic MP3 Tag information is only supported (Artist, Album, Title, Track)
    Year, Genre, Album Art, etc. not displayed when navigation the XBOX360
2) Nested folders seem to be supported; for example:
    <dns323>\Volume_1\Audio\Music\A\<artist>\<album>\Disc 2
    <artist>  = name of artist
    <album>  = name of album
    - Albums with more than one CD is further nested in a structure (Disc 1, Disc 2, Disc 3, etc.)
    - I've sub-grouped artists from (0, A-Z) for cross player support (XBMC, Media Player, WinAMP, etc.)
      (some players run into indexing problems with folders that contain over 4096 objects)
3) Wasn't able to find an Parametric (or other) EQ on the XBOX360
4) XBOX360 doesn't seem to support GAIN parameters that have been added to all my MP3's
   (set to 89DB/album for consistent volume level)
More than likely you have a corrupt media file halting the scan for some reason.
I have the same problem happening to me...
I reset my device to default and I then started the share to a particular folder and then from there the device doesn't even see the media for some reason..
I installed firmware 106 and am able to see the list of my videos on the 360.  The problem is when I launch a video error code 69-C00D36BE comes up.  For those wondering where the drive shows up just go into the my video tab on your 360 and you should see the DNS right away.
