Adapter incorrectly always reporting 300 Mbps
« on: October 01, 2010, 08:58:34 AM »

After recently installing the DWA-552 adapter for my 802.11n network, I've noticed that Windows 7 is always reporting that speed is 300 Mbps. The adapter's speed never fluctuates and never actually receives near 300 Mbps. I know this isn't a Windows 7 bug since my laptop's adapter speed always changes appropriately (both are Windows 7 x64). Is there a way to fix this so that the card can report correctly?

Is this a bug in the hardware or software? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Thanks

Hi Grant,

What program are you using to see the speed in? I am using Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 and letting Windows manage the Adapter.

I'm simply viewing the "Wireless Network Connection Status" from within Windows. I am not using any programs to view the speeds apart from what comes with Windows.
