What kind of Internet access do you have? Static IP, Dynamic IP, PPPoE?

Dynamic IP.

DD-WRT is based on Open-WRT. So basically if Open-WRT would have support for whatever wireless chipset is in B2, then DD-WRT would have it too.
When I bought this router a couple of years ago, I was assuming that DD-WRT was supported.  I have it installed on my old Belkin router.  I use the router still, but the stock firmware sucks.  The mac address filtering page filled up rather quickly.

Why?  Cause some stupid chipset manufacturer didn't release the code.  Now I hear it is released, but nobody decided to pick it up.

This sucks...

Just a note to confirm that the BrainSlayer builds of dd-wrt work great on the DIR-615 E1; far more stably than the stock firmware.  I highly recommend for owners of this hardware.

Flashed with the web version of the firmware through the standard web interface; didn't use the fancy tftp method.

Router Model D-Link DIR-615-E1
Firmware Version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) std - build 14929

johnwbyrd, you said this was more stable, can you let me know what settings you changed from the default?  Many thanks!

So i Flashed a DIR-615 E3 Firmware 5.10. It worked just fine once i was able to get it into recovery mode     (Emergency Room). Just download the file via the ftp and it worked great! Now i have 3 more to do.

Flash with the file below from with in the D-link Emergency Room.

ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/08-12-10-r14929/dlink-dir615e3/

Get the one from here: ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/08-12-10-r14929/dlink-dir615d/

Use dir615d-revb-ddwrt-webflash.bin if you plan to update from the DD-WRT web interface or dlink-dir615d-factory-webflash.bin if you use the emergency room method.

Hi.
Got the DIR-615 D1 w/the original 4.11 firmware.
How can I flash to DD-WRT?

Did this with a Linksys G-router a long time ago, hopefully the method is not as painful anymore (it's bricked now, but I can't remember why :D)

What do you mean? Have you actually bothered reading the first post? It contains all the instructions you need to flash DD-WRT on D1.

If you have trouble understanding a particular aspect of the process, then try to be more specific please.

Hello!

I flash my D-Link 615 D1 to DD-WRT but I lost the internet acess...

I have a cable connection (Arris modem) connected to two routers. One (Asus RX3041) is to broadcast via cable network RJ45 and the other (D-Link DIR-615) to distribute a wireless signal.

When I install the DD-WRT firmware, I can`t acess to the internet.

One print of my Asus Status page:

One print off DD-WRT Status page:

Can anyone tell me why I can`t acess to the internet qhen I install the DD-WRT firmware?

Thanks!

I identified several problems from your screenshot.

First of all your LAN settings on the modem use 192.168.1.1 and have DHCP enabled, but your DD-WRT uses Static IP. Maybe you want the router to always have the same IP on the modem - router LAN, not like it would matter, but fine. Then why keep DHCP server enabled? Anyway, this is not such a big deal.

Now, from what I can see your DD-WRT WAN settings have no DNS server specified. This means domains won't resolve. Either set your DD-WRT WAN Connection type to "automatic configuration - DHCP" so it can get the DNS from the modem automatically, or set a DNS server manually under Setup > Basic Setup > Network Setup > Local DNS.

This gets us to the next problem on the DD-WRT router. Your LAN subnet conflicts with the WAN one. I see your home computers are also 192.168.1.*, that's not how it works.

It must be a different subnet. So, once you have 192.168.1.* between your modem and router, where your modem is 192.168.1.1 and your router is 192.168.1.2, but it can be whatever on that subnet.

Your LAN settings for router should be a different subnet, like 192.168.2.1 or different entirely 10.0.1.1 for router. This is set from Setup > Basic Setup > Network Setup > Local IP Address.

If you don't understand something from my hasty explanation, feel free to ask.

uuriasu: You don't have the IP address for WAN interface. DHCP seems to be enabled so that's OK. I guess you have already checked the lights on modem and Dir-615 so I would suggest to check that iptables is not blocking the incoming DHCP packets from WAN: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Iptables_command#Firewall_blocks_DHCP_renewal_responses

On WAN the ip is dynamic,i need to put the ip from the provider...
Ya YA but that WAN setup is for internet,i can't make the LAN work

And that doesn't work i hit the line iptables -I INPUT -p udp --dport 68 -j ACCEPT on the command and nothing.
I have net from "UPC" provider...The ip is dynamic, and i set the WAN to automatic
Look :

And..

What i need to change to work the LAN connection and WAN,now is working only the wireless
