Just bought a Samsung 7100 series LED TV and I am having issues reading media on my DNS-321. Probably because it doesn't fully support DLNA. DLink please tell me that you're planning a firmware upgrade for this?!!  I just bought it!  Are there any 3rd party solutions or hacks for this?

What are the issues you are having? Are you able to playback any media files at all?

My last experience was with pictures.  From the TV's "Media Play" function, I choose pictures, and it shows 3 folders all called "video."  From there I can eventually get into the folder structure of my shard folder, but there are no pictures in any of the albums I choose.

As I recall I am getting the same issue with movies and music.  Nothing shows up.

On XBox, I was able to view pictures, but no videos.

On PS3 I get DLNA errors. 

And yes, I have recently refreshed the DLNA folders.

I'm upgrading the firmware on my router (Linksys WRT54G) tonight.  More to come.

I was curious about the DNS-321 myself, as I am looking to purchase this item this week, and be able to stream audio/video through my network to a DLNA certified Blu-ray player that has built in WiFi, but I cannot seem to find anything about the DNS-321 and DLNA compliance.

But seriously, this product is still being sold and needs better support. DLNA should be supported. There are many of us out there with networked tvs.

The UPnP AV media server is not DLNA certified however uses many of the same standards. The PS3 and xbox have been tested and work fine with the UPnP AV media server there has actually been updates to the UPnP AV media server to ensure this functionality on these 2 devices. I actually use this device and my Xbox360 daily for watching videos. As for all models of network TVs, I do not have details of any test results and I do not have access to these devices personally to test.

Can you explain what is happing when trying to watch videos on the Xbox and PS3? Are you able to see any videos in the folders? Are you searching the videos by folder? Can you provide some details on the folder structure?

OK, all appear to work on the PS3.  I'll confirm on the XBox soon.  Still, no dice on my Samsung LED (using Media Play).

I have the following structure:

Volume_1/joe        <-- me
Volume_1/susan    <-- Susan
Volume_1/shared   <-- ALL

So, the only available folder on my TV, XBox or PS3 is Volume_1/shared.  Within that folder, I have:

Volume_1/shared/music
Volume_1/shared/pics
Volume_1/shared/videos

From my TV, it shows a really strange structure (for Media Play->Photo, similar issue for Music, Video):

Media Play->Photo/Video/Folders/shared/pics/{albums}
Media Play->Photo/Video/Video   <- this redirects to above Video folder
Media Play->Photo/Video/Video   <- this redirects to above Video folder

When I choose an album within ./pics, it shows no pictures.  I then back out to the Video folder, and now it shows:

/Volume_1/shared/pics/{albums}

and I can see the picture icons but after a while the TV gives me an error: "the request cannot be completed" and boots me back to the Media Play menu.

I run into similar problems with Video and Music.  I have to find some wormhole in the folder structure (starting with Video, Video, Video as an option) to even get to the files.  Turns out I am able to play music.  I can play video, but a simple AVI (taken from my camera) gives me an error: "not supported audio."

I too have a slight inconvenience streaming avi files from my two DNS-323's (One running firmware 1.08 and one running 1.05) to my Samsung LED (UN46B7000) TV (Running firmware 2009/11/10_001016).

The picture and audio streams fine. I just do not have the ability to PAUSE (fast forward and rewind are not supported as per page 60 of my manual). Not being able to PAUSE is extremely annoying.

I am able to PAUSE using the Samsung PC Share Manager software (ver 2.33) that I have downloaded and am running on my PC (Windows XP). So I know the TV is capable of PAUSEING streamed video, so this leads me to believe that the UPNP Media Server on the DNS-323 is missing some of the UPNP specifications that would make it DLNA compliant and fully compatible with the Samsung DLNA/UPNP specification??

I suspect the same thing is happening with the DNS-321....

It is difficult to find a DLNA that is compliant with DNS-321. I had also similar problem and right now, I am looking for a suitable DLNA in the internet. If I find something, I will post it here.

I am able to get the PS3 to see my music using the UPnP AV server, however it will not show the proper ID3 tag information and I have verified that the MP3 files are using the 2.3 ID3 tag version.  Therfore I cannot view or play music by selecting a specific genre from the PS3.  Any thoughts?
