Only runs at 54mbps
« on: March 03, 2010, 06:07:42 PM »

Hi I just bought a D-Link DWA-125 usb wireless adapter for use with my laptop that I am using at a college dorm. I'm running Windows XP 64-bit, and I installed the latest drivers for it that I downloaded from your website. It works fine with the new drivers (the one on the cd was old and didn't install right) but it's speed seems capped at 54mbps. I don't have access to the wireless router here, so I don't know if they maybe cap our usage or not, but I was kind of hoping if maybe there is a setting I can change on my end to make it run at 150mbps? Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

Hi Kamiyama. Probably the bandwidth on the router you are connecting to is set for only 20 Mhz. I had similar speed until I changed the bandwidth on my DIR-615 router to the 20-40 Mhz setting. Once that was done, I was up to 135 Mbps speed.
I hope this helps.
