DGL4500 shareport not connecting to backup drive

Any news on the shareport problems? 

I just bought a Seagate USB drive and connected it to the USB port on my DGL4500 and using the shareport tool, it only connects to the drive after I reboot my computer and the router.  It then disconnects after about an hour, in the middle of my windows 7 backup.  Is this going to be fixed?

OK, new development, I get a blue screen of death in windows 7 64 using shareport after two hours.  I have been using windows 7 64 bit for almost a year now, (betas and RC and now retail pro), and have never had a single crash or lockup during that time.  This is a pretty fresh install, (installed retail version in January), so I don't have alot on my system.  This program is going into the folder 13 until this gets figured out.  Hopefully there will be a response from a dev or something on this matter. 

I can supply crash logs and memory dumps as well if needed to the devs upon request....

A new version of PC SharePort was released, version 3.0. Try that and if you are having the same trouble let me know.

Yes, it is compatible with the following routers:

  • DGL-4500
  • DIR-655
  • DIR-685
  • DIR-825
  • DIR-855

Does it matter which FW on DIR-655.    I have FW1.32NA.    I read on some thread saying that for FW1.32NA, I should be using 1.0.1r for SharePort.      Do I need to upgrade my FW to make it to work?

Also, on different threads, there are different suggestions on setting, e.g. "Enabling Multicast Streams" on the router, and "Enable broadcast addresses" with 192.168.0.255 settings.      Can D-Link PLEASE provide an official instructions on settings required on router AND SharePort Utility.
