i have an xbox 360 slim that i'm trying to use as a media center extender. i bought this router to upgrade from the fios router which only has g speeds and doesn't cut it for hd video streaming. i have the pc hard wired with a gigabit port to the router. if i connect the xbox on g only mode i can get 54mbps, however, if i connect using n mode, it will only connect at max rate of 11mpbs (sometimes slower). i also confirmed this by going to the network tuner in the media center interface and by the fact that streaming doesn't work in n mode. here are all of the solutions i've tried so far and/or settings that may be relevant (i also called tech support and spent a good amount on of time on the phone with them also)
under wireless settings i have tried no security and using wpa2 only with aes only encryption which i'm currently using. i also tried manually picking a channel but it's currently on auto. also tired channel with 20mhz only, currently set to auto.
i also set up the qos for the xbox as described in the sticky in this forum (this was done according to the basic setup)
under advanced, spi and anti spoofing are disabled. transmit power is high, wlan is off, wmm is enabled, short gi is enabled, ht20/40 is enabled. wish and wps are off. upnp is on, and multicast streams are enabled.
firmware has been updated to v1.01
i only own one other n device which is a laptop that will connect at 300mbps on 5ghz and 150 on the 2.4 band, so i know my router is capable of connecting at higher speeds. is there anything i'm missing, or is anyone else using their xbox as an mce that has a working setup? any help would be appreciated, thanks!
