Hi Everyone,
Hopefully somebody can shed some light as I'm losing hope.
Problem: When I log-on Xbox Live to play Call of Duty 4 online, my connection constantly gets dropped. Over and over. I must note that this has only been happening for the last 2 months, prior to that everything has been fine. I have used the system successfully for about a year before this.
Things that are new to my setup in the last 2 months. A. Router (DIR-628) B. Macbook Pro
My setup... Modem connected to Router... Router connected to PC and xbox 360 via Ethernet cords... Macbook Pro accesses Wireless internet through router. Xbox is setup as static IP. PC is setup as static IP with DNS settings as well. My internet connection type in the router settings is dynamic IP DHCP.
Problem DOES NOT occur when xbox is connected directly to the modem, therefore it is a router issue.
I have contacted my internet provider, Microsoft, and d-link. I have opened 6 ports (53,80,3074TCP / 53,88,3074 UDP). Actually at first D-link told me to do this through port forwarding, entering the ports separately, and entering the PC ip address. Tried it... didn't work... Then they told me to erase that and enter the same information into the Virtual Server tab... didn't work... Then they told me to enable DMZ ip address (using xbox IP)... didn't work... then I read to set NAT Endpoint Filters to Endpoint Independent... didn't work
During the process I created exceptions in my windows firewall for the 6 ports as well. Also didnt help. I'm really losing hope that I'll figure this out. Can somebody help me?? Please tell me I don't have to get another router. I'm hoping to get this figured out before modern warfare 2 comes out next week.
Keep in mind that my xbox does not have any issues with actually connecting to xbox live, just that it CANNOT maintain the connection. So I can keep connecting, but it randomly disconnects me over and over.
Thanks, Josh
