Just wondering if anyone has switched from the DGL-5500 to the DIR-890L, and if so, would be willing to offer up feedback / experience(s).  I'm specifically looking for some feedback regarding gaming (Xbox One x2 / Xbox 360 x2) and how the DIR-890L compares to the DGL-5500 in that aspect.  I'm currently using the DGL-5500 as my main router and the DIR-868L as an AP.  The DGL-5500 has been doing a great job, but I'm thinking about upgrading my router(s).  I'd consider making the DGL-5500 an AP connecting it to the upgraded router (DIR-890L or DIR 895L) for the Streamboost Technology when gaming if needed / recommended.

I'm also considering holding out for the DIR-895L.  It's still showing a 2015 release.

Gaming on the 890L has been good. Better than the 5500.

The 868L has better radios, range and wireless speed support than the 5500 does. My 868L is set up as my 2ndary AP.

The 5500 is the only model router to have StreamBoost. SB does not appear on any other model router nor will it.

I'm definitely gonna pull the trigger and replace my 5500 with either the 890L or 895L (when it finally gets relesed).  I'm gonna keep the 868L as my secondary AP as it performs well in that aspect.

At least my boxed-up DGL-4500 won't be so lonely in the closet now - the DGL-5500 will soon join it to keep it company.

ROUTER:  D-Link DGL-5500 (yes...still using the DGL-5500)

ISP: Orbitel Communications (100 Mbps down / 5 Mbps up)

I still have my 4500 too!  It's retired  and waiting for the 5500 to retire and keep it company    I might head to Fry's Electronics this morning at grab the 890L.

Just placed an order for the D-Link DIR-890L 

I got a pretty SWEET deal through Best Buy ($289.99 - $30 DLink Promo Code = $259.99 + tax AND FREE SHIPPING)  It's scheduled to arrive on Friday!  Excited to get it set up!  I'm guessing now that I ordered it, the DIR-895L will be released.  I guess if that happens, I can always revert the DIR-890L to a AP 

I'll take any suggestions / tips / tidbits of info regarding the DIR-890L.  In the mean time, I'm gonna peruse the DIR-890L forum once again for a "refresher" on the 890L. 

The DGL-5500 will soon be "retired" and boxed up, and joining the DGL-4500 in a closet.
