DSL-2750U Parental Control Issue
« on: August 18, 2014, 06:40:26 AM »

Hi

Parental control on my DSL-2750U router Firmware Version: AF_1.60_R01 does not work. Adding a website address does nothing to block a website entered into my browser at all. Schedule is set to always.

  • What region are you located?

Do you have the schedule rule set up as well?

I believe that you have to set up the time schedule first, and set up the time frame of when you need this action to take place the then to stop. Then apply the schedule to the control...

I would review the user manual for any information on scheduling and control set up.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

I'm not seeing that option.

The advanced help mentions a 'Schedule Rules List' that can be edited but I'm not seeing that section either

Edit: Seems it's not saving the settings in Parental control. I 'tick' the set up URL with the schedule then click 'add'  but when I go back it's deselected.

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection
