There has been a slight change of plans. This morning at the spur of the moment I decided to go ahead and purchase myself a DIR 835 router. It isn't scheduled to get here until after Christmas but when it does I'm going to set it up and test out air print to see if it is working flawlessly and if it doesn't I'm going to return it. I don't foresee any issues because I was told that this router is compatible with Bonjour. So I guess the only thing left to do right now is wait for the router to arrive at my doorstep. Once I test everything I will be sure to post and let everyone know what my results are.

I just want to let you know FurryNutz that there is a small possibility I might require your assistance on team viewer just to look over my settings once I have the router configured and make sure that I have done everything correctly, please let me know if that's okay with you.

Only thing the worries me is the reviews I've read point to bad reliability, failing after about 90 days

Just wanted to post a quick update for anyone that may be experiencing the same problem that I was having. I got my new D-Link DIR 835 this afternoon, I set it up in a matter of 15 minutes and I'm proud to report that everything is working 100%. My printer can now go to sleep and still be seen and woke up by my iPad. Furthermore I can take advantage of the dual band technology which is a huge bonus because it was not a reason why I chose to upgrade. So far my speeds and reliability have been great.

I just wanted to let everyone know that all of my problems are now solved

Hi Folks,
I have a DIR-655 Version A2 HW running 1.30EA Firmware. The router reports this is the latest version!
I have looked at lots of posts and tried all sorts of things to get Airprint working from my iPAd to my new Brother MFC-J4510DW Printer. This works in the shop, but it looks like my router is preventing something. the printer won't wake up on wireless without being re-booted and won't wake up after it sleeps.

Brother support say it is the router not playing nicely and passing on the protocol.
Looked at the support pages on this D-Link forum and Apple here:

No joy. Is my router HW too old to support Airprint?
Can anyone help?

Failing that, I will just have to resort to printing via a cable for my Mac (OS-X 10.6.8 ) and not bothering about Airprint. A bit disappointing after having an Airprint capable printer  :(

I'd recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and check to see if Rev A model router supports Air Print features. It may not. Ask about any configurations that might get it working. Please let us know if you find out anything.
