Repeating an Invisible Network
« on: June 13, 2013, 11:45:09 AM »

I am trying to set up my DIR-505L for repeater mode to extend the wifi signal of an invisible network.

Here is what I have tried:

1.  Running the setup wizard.
-    Issue: cannot find main wii network because it is invisible

2.  WiFi Setup & WiFi Extended Setup.
-    Issues:  Everything looks good, but after device reboots, I still cannot connect to network.

I have the main network SSID entered correctly, there is no password, but again, it's an invisible network.  I want to broadcast a new network name that will also be invisible and have a WPA password.

Also of note:  when I configure the same way as a HotSpot I can connect to Internet, but the signal doesn't seem to be very strong.  I was hoping that repeater mode might strengthen signal?

Link>Welcome!
  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Does the setup or wizard have a option to manually type in a SSID name and PW? [/list]
