Here are some of my DNS-343 settings that I've found (through trial and error) to impact throughput:

  • ADVANCED > DHCP Server > Disable
  • ADVANCED > LLTD > Disable
  • ADVANCED > UPnP AV Server > Disable
  • ADVANCED > iTunes Server > Disable
  • SETUP > LAN Setup > JUMBO FRAME SETTINGS > Status > Enable
  • SETUP > LAN Setup > JUMBO FRAME SETTINGS > MTU > 7000

I have doubts about your network. Maybe your cat/dog eat LAN cable ? :P
My recommendations:
a) try speed 2 PC's (only 2 PC's and 1 router/switch !!!) Try to copy 1 big file and many small one's.
b) try to do same thing with all pc's in the network at the same time. repeat several times.
c) try to connect only your DNS and PC with crossover lan cable. download/upload.

Short of a major DNS-343 configuration oversight, I agree that there seems to be something awry with his network (router? firewall?)  ???
