Can't see new DPR1260 on LAN
« on: January 19, 2009, 07:36:39 AM »

I recently installed a new DRP-1260 on my home LAN.  My router is a D-Link DIR-655 and the IP address is 192.168.0.1.  The range of addresses for LAN clients is 192.168.0.100-199.  I have two clients a wired XP connection at 192.168.0.198 and a wireless Linux connection at 192.168.0.199.

I installed the 1260 and connected it directly to the router (on port 4) using an ethernet cable.  I believe the default static address of the print server is 192.168.0.10, but I can't ping that address from either client.

I tried re-setting the router to the factory default settings so that there should be no security limitations for the PS to overcome in connecting, but still no success.  Under these conditions, the wireless connection light never went on either.

Am I using the wrong IP address to get to the print server or is there another way to get to the device?  Alternatively, what would I have to do to convince myself that the device is defective?
