what is the best router and switch out there? I would only want to spend upto $150 on the router and $50 on the switch. the router must have DDNS, gigabit ports.
I prefer HP switches. Not saying DLink or others are bad. Just preference. I do enjoy my DGL-4500. My cousin is enjoying his DIR-655 though. Works great for his use. Finding routers just depend on what you need to do.
Hi all, would a laptop with a 5400RPM hardrive slow down transfer rates? if so, roughly by how much (in terms of percentage).noalso, if my network cables crossing electrical wires, would this slow down the speed?
I've not found the perfect router... sigh... the best one I've come across for my needs is the wndr3400; but it has some issues, like the timezone feature doesn't work, so you have to schedule everything in Pacific time. I have a Dlink dir-655 A3 which has a very nice feature set, but is not compatible with my 5GHz wireless adapters; although I haven't tried it with the latest .35 firmware. As for switches, I've had good luck with the DLINK's. I have some 5 port netgears that have worked good, but the DLINKs have been a better $$/port value
