DIR-615 in AP mode, with DHCP from other router

I just got my hands on a DIR-615 and I am trying to set it as a wireless access point (with the directions from the user manual.)  Every seems to be okay but it seems that all wireless clients do not get a IP from my other DHCP service unit.  Does the DIR-615 let DHCP requests to the "true" service unit?

Fatman:
Yes, please make sure they are connected LAN<->LAN

Then, I do not know what I did wrong since I did just that and the wireless adapter (DWA-130) got an auto-IP address from XP (169.254.xx.xx)

Also tried a 11G adapter (TEW-444UB) and it did also get an auto-IP address (169.254.xx.xx.)

BTW:  DIR-615 router is hardware version B2 with firmware 2.24.

Jpinto:
What router or server are you using to supply your DHCP? In other words what DHCP device are you using to make your LAN to LAN connection? You will have to disable your DHCP in your DIR-615 and let whatever DHCP server you are connected to, issue the ip addressing.

smlunatick:
I have a specialised Internet all-in-one email/firewall/file server which I have been using for years.  It is based on a secured Linux (??) system.  I have followed the router's user manual directions and I was not able to get the DHCP requests to be sent over to the wireless network.  I have since configured a "separate" network over the wireless but I am since wanting to get the access point mode to work.
