DPH-541 (1.00.14) can not register with pbxes.com: "-" problem?
« on: November 09, 2009, 03:31:10 PM »

My DPH-541 (software rev 1.00.14) works fine with a local TrixBox, Gizmo,
RingCentral, and other SIP providers.  However, it will not register with pbxes.org,
apparently because the SIP Account Name required by pbxes.org has a dash ("-") in it,
which the DPH can not tolerate.  A similar claim has been made elsewhere
(http://www1.pbxes.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=1252733464).

Can anyone comment?  Or suggest a way for me to test this conjecture?
Thanks.

have you tried entering the "-" thru the web login interface to the phone?

i've been able to enter characters easier that way, for my router key,
that would have taken longer doing it by the phones keyboard,
having to press some keys multi-times for the other letters, or symbols.

even some keys that were not part of the phones character set worked
when I entered them using the web login UI to the phone.

Then again, I'm using the latest *(last) firmware version too, :-)

if you're also having trouble updating the firmware, I have a reply, on this site, to
someone else asking the same question (or similar) about FW update troubles.
