A Piece of Costructive Advice
« on: April 17, 2009, 11:56:34 PM »

Dear Dlink,

Let me give you an advice about the latest OFFICIAL/now BETA 1.30 firmware release.

1. In terms of wireless performance and stability - so far so good. Hopefully, it is a fix we waited for!

2. Advanced DNS option should be documented CLEARLY in a) help, b) manual c) FAQ. This is the security,  and people don't take it lightly. Also, it'd be great if the whois pointed to OpenDNS, not to unknown "302 Direct Media".

3. Please, immediately fix and release the SharePort utility. It doesn't work (how your QA couldn't see it?).

4. Mark this firmware as not 802.11b compatible and allow it as a choice (but not the only choice!).

Basically, I am proposing to make a cosmetic help change in the 1.30 firmware, and the fix in the SharePort.
Let people like me at least the ability to have stable wireless and functioning USB sharing. We waited for this for 6 month already!

Regardless, 802.11b. It should be there for those who need it. But I guess, it may take a bit longer to put it back.

So again, release 1.30 w/ improved help, and fix SharePort for now. And 802.11b should be the next immediate step after.

Sincerely,
David

You already have 2 other threads on the same topic. In any other internet forum this would be locked. It doesn't help anyone on this forum if you keep creating new topics to vent your frustration. I think it's rather childish actually, especially considering your questions were answered in your first thread.
