Last night, my Mac was suddenly disconnected from the DIR-855, and would not re-associate no matter what I did.  It was connected via the 5Ghz N network.

I then tried to access the 855's web interface, and it too was dead.

All other 2.4Ghz G WiFi clients were still working.

I was forced to powercycle the unit.

I also noticed that the system's clock was off by quite a bit, even though it is set to sync to a reliable NTP server, and it was synced correctly a couple of weeks ago when I first configured the unit.  I don't know when NTP started failing.  It would be nice if there were log entries to help diagnose such issues.  It would also be nice if I could use an NTP server on the LAN!

After power cycling the 855, was your Mac able to re-establish the connection?

also, regarding your NTP/Time issue, are you able to select a D-Link NTP server and have the router obtain accurate time information?

as a side note, be sure to select the respective time zone to your location.

Yes, a power cycle was required as mentioned, and the Mac reconnected just fine.  Also, the http server for the admin interface was working again.

I started using the dlink NTP server, and so far things are fine.  However, the unit should allow selection of LAN-based NTP servers.  Since I run one for many systems, I don't need duplicate NTP traffic.

Timezone is correct, and wasn't an issue  - the incorrect time could not be accounted for by mere hour or 1/2 hour offsets (as for some DST zones).

Were you mobile when you lost the connection? is there ANY other wireless device that might have activated? (other wi-fi signals, cordlessUSB, cordless phones...etc); Or did it just randomly drop connection?

My Mac was wirelessly connected to the 5Ghz network and it (randomly) dropped the connection, and could not reconnect.  I then tried via another system to connect to the DIR-855's http admin interface.  It would not connect, and the HTTP port 80 was unresponsive.  I suspect some service in the device crashed along with the 5Ghz radio state.

Another 5Ghz device was already associated, but I was not able to determine its status.
