Set up home network with access point
« on: March 06, 2013, 07:20:34 AM »

Hi guys. I've been searching for a solution for this for a while now but i can't seem to find a single tutorial that fits my specific setup.

I have a D-Link DSL-500B modem that handles my connection to the internet, a D-Link DIR-615 (Hardware version: E5, Firmware version: 11BR) that is the main router, and an old DIR-300 (Firmware: version 1.03) which I want to use as AP router for a secondary hotspot outside the house.

I have followed many tutorials and managed to find how to set up the DIR-300 to AP mode with the same seetings of my original network. But I haven't found a single one that has allowed me to successfully add the access point to my home network. Some configurations were not clear to me, since the path described was not one I could follow when accessing my 2 routers in order to properly set up this access point. So I'm trying to find more about this specific setup of mine, as described above.

I'll be gratefull if any of you can shed some light onto my situation.
