DGS-1224T
« on: September 19, 2009, 03:12:44 AM »

I'm just starting to learn about networking and such so be easy on me.   ;D
I purchased a DGS-1224T

This is how the network is setup here at home.   Internet <------ Cable Modem <------  Firewall <----- Switch.

I had to purchase a wireless router which personally I didn't want to but alas the wife wants to be able to get on the internet anywhere in the house.  I'm not wanting the wireless router to talk to the other parts of the network though I want it to still be able to access the internet.

Port 1 is where the firewall is located.
Port 9 is where the wireless router is.
Ports 2 - 8 are the wired computers.

I'm needing help on configuring the switch correctly.

Thanks in advance

Your best answer is to use wireless isolation if your router supports it.  Second to that you will need to look into asymmetric VLANs.
