You might try one of these configuration suggestions as well:Internet - DIR-880L Router <Power Line adapter> 110v <Power Line adapter> DAP-1720 AP mode 1 | | PC (ethernet) WiFi deviceorInternet - DIR-880L Router <----> LAN cable <---> DAP-1720 AP mode 1 | | PC (ethernet) WiFi device
You can but not recommended. Using extenders will cut your bandwidth down. You will never get the same bandwidth as the router.You can gain more if you use say 5.0 band from router to first extender, then 2.4 band from extender to extender.
Going building to building you will need higher-end access points. Home repeaters like the 1720 will not have the distance or performance. How far apart are the buildings? A couple options: network --- router --- access point (bridge mode) ) ) ) ( ( ( access point (bridge mode) --- switch --- network | internet or network --- router --- access point (client mode) ) ) ) ( ( ( access point (AP mode) ) ) ) ) wireless clients | internetDefinitely use static IPs
You would be better served with more robust APs if your wanting to use wireless. Any chance of running LAN cable between the buildings? Or is the ground topped with concrete or pavement?
