Since the My Files application appears to be only for use between your computer and the NAS on your LOCAL network it is not surprising it does not work over the internet.If you need to transfer files over the internet then you need an FTP client on your remote unit and a user with a username and strong password on your NAS.We communicate between our various NAS boxes at the office by using JFTP on laptops and AndFTP or ES File Explorer (depending on need) on our Android tablets
