UPnP with 4300 and PS3
« on: March 05, 2009, 07:38:38 PM »

What's up with UPnP on this router? Router says it's enabled but PS3 doesn't see it--that's unnacceptable. Please advise since I need to know whether to return this router to the store or whether it can work properly with PS3.

What firmware do you have on that unit?

1.9 - I updated it when I first set it up.

Nevermind--I took it back after talking to 2 levels of tech support. Bottom line--this "gaming" router doesn't work well with a major gaming platform--the PS3. My old router had no problem with UPnP.

Another thing--the router came with 1.7 firmware which would not properly port forward until I upgraded to 1.9. This is what I see too often--non-functioning products rushed to market and poorly supported. I'll be very cautious about buying D-Link products in the future.
