Adding a wireless bridge / AP

My D-Link DIR-655 is my main router, plugged into my cable modem.
I have a Belkin Wireless G router that I'd like to place in another part of my home and connect other devices to via ethernet (VoIP phone, blu-ray player). 
Is it possible to connect the two routers wireless-ly?

No. DIR655 is no wireless bridge nor does it have WDS.

YES, if your other router (not the 655) has the capability to be set up as a client/bridge.  I have this setup working with a WRT54G using DD-WRT.  My main router is the DIR-655.

My other router, a Belkin F5D7230 does have the capability to be an AP/WB.
I just don't know how to get the two of them to talk.

I've configured the DD-WRT router to communicate to the DIR-655 but the DIR-655 keeps disconnecting it (with a deauthentication message in the logs).

if i have the 655 set up as my main router, can i add a second in another part of the house as the AP?
if so, does anyone have any tips on making that work?

I do not know anything on the Belkin WB/AP you mentioned, but as long as you set up the same SSID, security (type and passphrase), and set the Belkin in WB mode (all this via a wired PC-connection into the Belkin), it should not be too hard. The 655 will 'talk down' to the Belkin, as long as the wireless g is set supported by the 655.
