Hi all. I've newly acquired a DNS-323 with the intent of hosting an FTP site and my own website/domain. I have acquired/purchased a domain name and think I am close. The FTP server works fine but when I enter the permanent IP for my domain name I received from Dyndns it takes me to the DNS-323 web interface. I believe it's a finger problem due to my inexperience. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds to me like you are forwarding Port 80 (the http port) vs. Port 21 (the ftp port). If you forward Port 80 from your router, and type in http://yourwebsite, that will take you to the GUI for the DNS-323. If you forward Port 21 from your router, and type in ftp://yourwebsite, that should access the DNS FTP server.

The FTP server is working. If I type in ftp:\\mysite.ca it takes me right through the router and 323 to the specified folder on the hard drive.

I want to be able to type http:\mysite.ca and have it bring up my own webpage located on the 323. When I do this it brings me to the GUI for the 323.

Port 21 seems to be being forwarded and working. I am 'assuming' by also forwarding port 80 that my webpage should come up?

Well.. I don't think its gonna work... since the DNS-323 is NOT a webserver....

I see what you mean...I don't believe you can do that, as it is not designed to be a web server, as the previous person mentioned. Perhaps there is something that you can add-on to the DNS, such as fun_plug that would make that a bit easier, but I am not really that familiar with many of the hacks available.
