What is listening on port TCP 7777?
« on: January 07, 2014, 12:37:46 PM »

Hi all.

Am I the only one who portscans new devices before (OK, slightly after) hooking them up to the network? In the interests of trustworthy machines, I've found it helpful to run nmap (a network port scanner) on NASes, routers, cameras, etc. Sometimes there are services which are not needed and can be shut off.

In the case of the DCS-930L, there's something listening on port TCP 7777. (I am using firmware 1.08, and I have shut off Bonjour, uPnP, etc etc. Only https and http servers should be operating, I'd have thought?)

Does anyone know what it is?

Thanks for any thoughts.
