Just wanted to bump this one up rather then make a new thread, but after reading all these posts is there still no real solution for 64bit Win7 and this adapter?  My connection is at least stable but the speed is horrid, less then 1mbps from speed tests.

I believe that the drivers available here (http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/downloads2008detailgo.asp) include a windows 7 64bit driver.
These (http://www.station-drivers.com/telechargement/atheros/wifi/atheros_wireless_8-0-0-259-w7(www.station-drivers.com).exe) are the official atheros drivers, which i hear are better than what D-Link offers. If the link does not work go here (http://www.station-drivers.com/page/atheros.htm) and scroll down to the second pair of drivers (Reseaux(Sans Fils)) and download the bottom one. The current version is 8.0.0.259

The speed issue with Windows 7 and Wireless networks is most commonly caused by the "computer browser".
you should disable this service to get the full speed from your wireless... There is no patch out yet for this yet, but this is most people's connection problem. (Other than drivers/hardware conflicts)

Find the service "computer browser", and disable it.

:D  My humblest thanks to Kyjibo. I had tried everything with this card and nothing would work. His fix immediately made the card stable. Try the link Kyjibo posted although there is one change; it is up to versioin 8.0.0.316.

Thanks,
Colin

;D I am in agreement with cwallace:  My humblest thanks to Kyjibo!  I, also had tried everything several times with this card on Win 7 64 bit and nothing would work. I followed his second link to the site and downloaded the latest (# 368 I think as of 11/18/2010) and it worked great!

Thanks again! It is a shame that D-link doesn't post this driver.

which download link on the station-drivers page do i use?  there is no second pair under sans filis (or whatever the french is)... there are several groups of links, some for bluetooth but I do not know which to use to replace the dlink dwa-556 wifi drivers  for win 7 64-bit.

my issue is that the card keeps either lagging out or reconnecting to the DIR-615 N router I am forced to work with...

the final driver listing that has a lot of different models, didn't work for me.
