Title: DIR-880L Connection to ONT keeps dropping
Post by: xorion on May 15, 2016, 10:23:12 AM
need some help, my DLINK 880L (new) keeps dropping connection to my ONT.

if connect laptop to ONT no issues, seems like a router issue.

Have tried powering off the ONT and 880L and then powering them on again and resetted 880L to factory defaults.

When I connect my laptop directly to the StarHub ONT (optical network terminal) - there is no drop in connection and it is very fast.
However when I connect my laptop to the DIR 880L which is connected to the StarHub ONT, it keeps dropping the IP on/ff as per the image.

Firmware: I clicked check for updates: it says latest
Region: Singapore
Factory Reset: 3 times
Firmware updates: none was done yet as its a new router with latest firmware
Was the router working before any firmware updates? Yes

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL? StarHub Fibre Broadband
What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have? StarHub Optical Network Terminal
What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have? Link> Speed Testing Sites - 120Mb/80Mb

The remaining questions are not applicable.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
