Title: Hard drive space usage
Post by: chewcm on March 25, 2015, 07:43:26 AM
I have a DNR-202L that is recording the H264 stream from a DCS-5222L camera to a 1TB hard drive.

On the DNR-202L product box, there is a small table that shows that the storage required for a 5fps 1280x720 H.264 stream at medium quality is 50G for 7 days and 208G for 30 days.

However, I find that no matter what frame rate, resolution and bitrate/quality I set, the recording takes up around 50-60 MB of hard drive space per minute, which translates to about 70-80 GB a day. This is nowhere near what's stated on the product box.

I just want to check if the DNR-202L owners here are also seeing this kind of usage, or am I the only one with this problem?
