But the updated add-ons are on another folder on FTP site:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dns325/Beta/Apps/
they are for 1.03 beta release.

Strangely on folder
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dns325/Beta
there is the 1.03 beta release too, date is the same of 1.03 stable and they have similar sizes.

Hi,
Do you experience similar UI problems on Mac, as this user here?

Biggest grief so far - still no IPv6 support.

Because 1.03 beta and 1.03 stable are the same firmware (the same matter of 1.02 beta and 1.02 stable). And may be that 1.03 stable will work well also with EU devices, but I still wait for WW magic stamp :-).

Drive hibernation issue:

When I installed 1.03, the dlink myCloud app was also installed then enabled. I setup and account configured the feature (which is great). However, I noticed my drives were not hibernating even though they were set to power down after 10 min. This previously worked in 1.02.

I decided to revert back to 1.02 in an attempt to fix the hibernation issue.
After doing that, the dlink mycloud was still there enabled as an app and running. Hibernation still did not work. I then disabled the dlink myclould app...and the drives spun down on schedule.

If anyone is using the mycloud feature, is there a setting I can configure to allow the drives to hibernate?

Post a reply in the Wishlist contribution thread if there is no hibernation option to fix this. . .  ???

I just installed 1.03, and it appears to have bricked my 325.  The front page of the UI comes up, but none of the top buttons (Home, Applications, Management) will respond, nor are any of my applications appearing.  I've rebooted several times.

I had this happen too, but I believe it may be caused by a browser cache issue. Go to the settings, clear the cache, then restart the browser and login again.

I am using firmware 1.02 and MyDlink Cloud Package release 2.37.0.18262 (BETA). I am facing the same problem (drives do not hibernate). I consider it as a bug, but now we should ask to D-Link if, for them, it is a bug or a needed behavior (logically this add-on has been built to sync NAS data with cloud data, so may be that this add-on needs to continuously sync data between local and remote drives without any temporary shutdown!!!). Moreover this add-on is still at Beta stage and it is even hidden on FTP sites (so it is not official - nor stable).

In my opinion this add-on is an open-door with a big security hole. If you install it and if you log-in with your cloud credentials, NAS provides all data inside disks without any user-level permissions and without taking care of the share restrictions (you simply have full control and full access to all drives).
I have used also the related Android app on my smartphone, I remained shocked to see all my data inside NAS without any restrictions - what may happen if someone steals my smartphone?!?!?!
At the moment I prefer to use FTP or SMB to read/write on my NAS using share/user credentials.

Same here, really really slow... I can log in always quickly but can't acces for example to a folder with photos and see them in less 5 minutes. (It takes more than 5 minutes to load a single photo). My connection is 50/5 so it should be enough to be quick as hell...

Also got more questions, opened a topic here: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=50123.0

I have seen the dead move faster.
What is this thing going through. Does it pass through dlink then to our server????
If this a direct link to my server???
direct link would be preferable!!!

You should only install firmware in your DNS-325 that is specifically labeled as either "WW" (i.e. worldwide) or labeled for the country/region in which the unit was purchased (e.g. "NA" for North America, "EU" for Europe, etc).

The "WW" firmware is typically stored on the Taiwan site, but nothing there yet for this latest FW version.

I didn't freak out and installed the 1.03 Firmware on my EU box. So far no complaints.
To disappoint you - no improvements on DLNA front, at least not for my Sony Bravia set.

I prefer to wait for an IT/EU/WW official release to avoid problems with warranty (and even with damaged/corrupted data inside NAS disks).

I have upgraded the firmware in my DNS-325 to v1.03, and installed all the apps, and I noticed that my drives were not hibernating, as they had in v1.02.

After checking these D-Link forums, I disabled the myDlink Cloud service, verified oplocks were disabled, I don't use iTunes, but verified that it was disabled as well.

I wanted to report that the drives are now hibernating fine on schedule, with firmware v1.03.

i installed v. 1.0.3 on my dns325.
In itunes server service i shared some folders of song compilations (various artists) that contain tag "compilation" with value = 1.
when i see the remote music in album view, Itunes doesn't read that it is a compilation. Infact  itunes shows different objects with same album name but different artist.
it is possible to fix it?

I've found a ... ?quirk? that could be addressed.

I have the P2P running and I have a set of torrents in it that are community endeavors (not movies, etc.) and i was trying to find out where some traffic was coming from on my network so I hit the "Stop" button on each of the torrents for a moment so I could look and suddenly some of the started up again for "no reason".

I cannot find any rhyme or reason as to why it stops on particular files.

What could be causing this?  ??? :o ::)

The legacy DNS-343 had issues completing backup jobs if the file names contained special characters. The DNS-325 is two generations ahead of the DNS-343, so I would presume they corrected that particular issue.  Based on your log entry I did notice that there are "+" signs in some of your file names. You may want to rename those and see if the job completes.

Java: Hmm, I thought we were out of the woods when it came to file naming conventions but I will check the logs and report back if I find a pattern. Thanks for your reply.  :)

edit1: It appears that the original file name contains a space where the '+' is

I would still first take a close look at the files where the job is failing, see if there's anything fishy or unique about them.

Although some of the file names are truncated in the copy/paste above, you can see that there doesn't seem to be any kind of pattern in terms of special characters. I'm mystified  :o ??? :o

JavaLawyer: Do you know whether Amazon will re-upload every file again if I simply rename it on the drive I'm backing up? Incremental backup.

Reason I ask is I'm tempted to try running a script to recursively rename every file to convert spaces to underscore and remove all special characters in the hopes that it might fix the uploading errors. Thanks.

DNS-325 - 4TB HDD Support

D-Link has added 4TB hard drives to their approved HDD list. Please see the following sticky post for supported makes/models: DNS-325 - Compatible HDDs (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=46896.0) :)

UPDATE:

I phoned D-link support they escalated to the highest tier. The answer the technician gave me was not very satisfying.

According to him, based on a couple other reports, the S3 app that comes packaged with the DNS-325 has a 2 GB file upload limit.

Really? Surely many people have >2GB to back up in total. He may be confusing it with an old bug that limited single file size to 2GB or less, but this model and firmware is not affected by that bug.
