Title: DIR-3060 Static IP address reservation
Post by: ex-egll on August 16, 2020, 08:43:55 AM
Hi, I am thinking of replacing my present router with a DIR-3060, looking through the manual I can see no reference to DHCP Reservations that will allow the router to provide a static IP address to a device based on its MAC address. The only reference I can find for a PC to have a static IP address, but that is assigned in windows not by the router. I have a number of devices around the house that I would like to assign static IP's to but it has to be the router that does it as the devices don't have that capability!

Is this possible with the DIR-3060, or indeed with any of the MESH capable routers?

Thanks

Lets make it clear for terminology and standard networking practice sake, that STATIC for networking means that a STATIC ip address is assigned and configured ON a device. IP Address Reservations is configured ON the router for devices.

Thanks for the reply and for correcting my terminology. So the router does have the capability for reserving IP addresses.

Thanks
