Title: Problem Accessing usb ROOT
Post by: cejoos on January 08, 2020, 06:07:49 PM
Hello!

How are you doing?

I'm just started to test my new router DIR 882. And I'm having some issues.

One of them is accessing the USB root in the USB sharing > users > browse.

When I try to browse the root folder. The router take me to the login page.

Please help with it.

Best Regards,

Joos

NOPE...

And Dlink don't give a feed back.

They have more 2 days of deadline. Or I will return this router to the vendor...

Do you have any inside info on a firmware update for this router? It is confirmed that it does have some serious bugs such as this one and the one I reported about UPnP.
The ideal would be a more capable firmware (I'm still a bit bitter about the "gaming" branding this router has over here) but I know it probably won't happen even though dlink has more advanced firmware for routers with similar hardware. This router is quite capable and should be up to a better firmware with more features.

Another suggestion I have is to enable the option to set the DNS server for the DHCP (instead of WAN).

There is no information regarding new FW. With the Coronavirus running around over in China, this has delayed progress at some level I'm sure.

Regarding this bug, we are able to access the root file system of the connected USB drive as listed in the link provided. http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=75307.msg305324#msg305324 (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=75307.msg305324#msg305324)

You can set DNS I believe by disabling DNS Relay and enter in custom DNS addresses that would get passed to LAN side devices, under Internet settings I believe.
