Title: Lagging Issues
Post by: Se7en on May 31, 2018, 06:59:02 PM
I've never posted here before, so sorry if I have the wrong spot for this post. I have the DCS-8010LH and the mydlink app that supports it. I have it running a live feed all night. However, the longer I have it on, the more the feed gets delayed. The time displayed on the camera doesn't match the time on my phone, which it matched when I first enter the feed. Eventually, it will freeze entirely. In order to restore the feed, I have to exit it and reenter the feed. I did this with the DCS-936L with the myDlink lite app, never once had this issue. It would run all night. The internet is the same speed now as it was with the other camera (19 mbps in the room with the camera.) I have tried changing resolutions. I tried removing the device and readding it. This camera is essentially useless if I can't get this fixed. Thank you for any feedback you can give me.

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
How many other wireless devices do you have connected to the main host router?

I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool as a troubleshooting step: 192.168.#.80  DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0)

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=37689.0) both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62395.0)

Your DCS-8010LH likely accumulates latency over time, causing delays and freezing during continuous live streaming. To fix this, update the camera firmware and the mydlink app to the latest versions. Consider setting the camera to reboot periodically, lower the resolution or frame rate for long-term streaming, ensure a stable power supply, and, if possible, isolate the camera on a separate network. If issues persist, it may be a hardware limitation, as the camera might not handle overnight continuous streaming as well as the older DCS-936L. Similar to Commercail window tinting (https://bthtint.com/commercial-window-tinting/), proper maintenance and planning can help prevent ongoing problems.
