Privacy mode?
Don't see anything mentioning Motion Detection fixes. ???
-
I saw that. Not sure what privacy mode is. I will find out.
Motion - #3 under "Problems Fixed"
-
Privacy mode - It is in the UI. You can toggle live video on/off. This works with Google Home.

Should users apply the FW upgrade file then do a factory reset on the camera and set up from scratch? Or try a dirty install test?
-
Reset should not be necessary. If the camera is acting strange after update, a reset most likely will fix it.
Personally I always hard reset after firmware upgrade, but that is just me :)
-
Ok, I'm going to test with out a reset. Will if need to. Use default Detection settings? I believe 30% was last value...
-
Sure. Let me know if you get anything at 30%. I would prob start at 70% and adjust from there.
-
Not getting anything with 30 or 70%. I selected one pixel box in 3 different areas in the view screen. One farther away and two close to the camera. :-[
-
Ok, Looking at the Live video feed in FF, I'm see the motion icon running man next to the record icon thats under the DCS-936L title label upper left hand cornder of window, blinking orange when motion is being detected at 70%. Let me try 30% again.

-
Ok, 30% doesn't do anything.
Testing 70% again...then 90%

No mydlink lite notifications?
Well, a true test if the camera is working is the icon blinking in the UI. Since it is, the camera is working. But not sure why you are not getting mydlink notifications. You have iOS right? 11.0.3?
-
NO.
11.0.2...do I need to update to 11.0.3? ???
70% I get icon detect as well as 90%.
-
I logged into MDL services and enabled the email notifications...I got my first email notification. ;D
Nothing on iPhone 6sP. ???
-
You should upgrade to Android :)
I am sure Apple will release a KRACK update in the next week or 2. Techs i've talked to with 11.0.2 and .3 are getting push notifications with the beta firmware.
-
Since this firmware did update the mydlink agent, i wonder if a reset is necessary....
-
But Apple should work. LOL
Not seeing any notifications...will wait a while and see...I have all enabled under notifications for the MDL Lite app...
-
I can do a reset... ::)
-
I only have Motion dected enabled, no sound detect...
-
Same thing with my 960L, email notifications are coming thru, nothing on the phone. Any correlations here?
-
So push notifications are not working? I will let the techs know.
-
NO.
-
Any luck with push notifications?
-
NO.
-
From all your mydlink products or just the 936L?
-
All, not seeing any push items from the 960L as well. I'm getting emails from both though...I haven't enabled the 933L as it's not in a area that is detecting motion as this time. I can if you want me to test it.
Got this from my 960L via email:
Mail Alert: Device Disconnected
Time: 2017-10-20 14:37:03 CDT
Device: DCS-960L (DCS-960L, mydlink no. ########)
Mail Alert: DCS-960L was disconnected.

Due to changing of routers. ;D
-
I'm more concerned of mydlink not sending notifications. Just make sure it is enabled on mydlink lite app :) Would like to rule out user error.
-
Ok, enabled on my 933L, Getting email notifications. Not PUSH though. :-\
-
MEH. OK. I reported to the techs.
-
I remember before I got the 936 and 960, my 933L when it was enabled, stopped sending push notifications. Not having good feedback here at the time, I submitted a support email ticket. I gave my cameras MDL service # and all the additional support info. About a day or two later. I started getting PUSH notifications from the 933L. This was about two years ago or so.
-
I was wondering how the progress is going with this beta. Should we expect a new firmware version soon?
-
Are you having issues with this build?
-
Yes, there is a problem: on the D-link lite app I keep getting an alert that there is new firmware available, when I hit download it downgrades back to the old firmware version. That;'s the main problem. I assume that will be solved when the beta gets pushed to final no?
-
Just ignore the firmware upgrade notice for now, I know it is annoying. The 1.05 firmware should be "officially" released very soon (hopefully in the next few days). I am not sure why it hasn't yet.
-
I loaded this new firmware on 2 DCS-936L cameras with great hopes for success. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I will say that overall there are less false motion triggers. I started the testing with the sensitive set at 50% and have gradually increased it to 85%. At 85%, I can back my car out of the garage and drive away and the camera does not trigger - ever (wondering if its cause my car is silver and the contract between it and the driveway are not drastic enough). But it will trigger with no discernible motion. In this case, you will see a slight brightness or screen change at the 5 second mark (I have the lead in set at 5 seconds). The camera does trigger if there is a large change is light, i.e. lightning at night or the motion flood lights turning on for a small rabbit hopping across the driveway. It also does trigger at night by the car headlights. Lastly, it triggers every time it turns the infrared on or off. Simply put, does not work. The second camera is watching my front door. At 70% sensitivity, it miss' people coming to the door. I would like to ask if any of the D-Link camera have functional motion detection? And if so, whats the problem here. D-Link should also stop advertising this camera as having motion detection. I will say that I like the price point, viewing angle, video quality and the ability to store video locally (really getting tired of companies trying to charge me for cloud capabilities). But motion detection was a key item for me. I'm happy to discuss my testing further if anyone cares and I can also send in some video samples if it would help.
-
I'm getting detect at 70%. Mines in a room so it's only seeing people thats selected for one block in the detect area. I only have 3 marked. two moderately far, one close to the camera.
I'm still not getting any PUSH notifications on my phone though. I have been getting emails. ::)

Still??

-
Is push notifications enabled in your mydlink lite app? Latest version?
-
All notifications are enabled: v3.8.3 B2483
iOS 11.0.3
-
Specific cameras are all of them?
I know there were a few maintenance updates in the last couple months. Haven't heard of issues of late with push notifications. I will again forward to tech support.
Do you have/use the mydlink Home app?
-
Yes all 3...
No as I mainly use the Lite app...Something I need to do with the Home app?
-
Just wondered if you are getting push notifications from mydlink Home since they use the same back-end.
-
I'll run it and see...
Haven't seen anything though all around. ???
-
I'm not getting the push notifications either. This worked on previous revisions. But since the motion detection is not working correctly, I have the notifications turned off anyway. I did go back into the setup and test the notifications using the test button and the emails failed.
-
I think we need to make contact with D-Link support, via live chat or https://www.mydlink.com/contact (https://www.mydlink.com/contact)and get the ball rolling in there court.

-
The firmware upgrade doesn't seem to fix the push notification! This is taking too long to fix, anyone after the firmware got the push notification working?
It defeats the purpose of me getting this camera!
-
It isn't working for me either.
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. The US offers Chat support for consumer products at support.dlink.com. 24/7. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Glad you got it working. Enjoy. ;)

I'm running this version and motion detection is still not working properly.
As far as I can tell below 30% false positives stop but real detection stops as well.
Above that there are too many false positives.
Another thing that I don't understand is the motion detection area, you draw it but it seems other parts end up triggering the camera.
-
Try setting 70% first then try 90%.
How do you have your detection area set up for?
Post a screen capture if you can:

any updates on improved motion detection? I just installed this camera and having the same issues reported in this forum... triggers on nothing and does not pickup someone walking in view
-
What are you using?
What sensitivity do you have it set too? Try 70%

I have purchased this camera yesterday and firmware was available once connected. Updated and tested. With and without reset.
- Motion sensor is not working at all.
- Sound sensor is working properly
Notifications work but since motion sensor is not working then it doesn't really matter.
Any solution or should I return the camera?
